Floor Plan

Here is a copy of my floor plan, I have made a couple of changes to this.

There is no door tot he ensuite, a sliding door on the WIR and a sliding door on the pantry.

Apart from forgetting to take out my camera, there was no new photos anyway.

The builder is just getting the place square, and it seems they have shaved some of the timber off the walls to make it straight! Is this normal?

Anyway, plaster has been delivered in a huge pile and I am hoping this will be hung this week.

I can go and choose new tiles Friday yaaaay!!! Now not too sure what I want. More looking at books.

How long is a piece of string?

I called out past the house on Friday as we went away for the weekend and there were still builders in there. I didn't go in so have to call out tomorrow night and take some more piccies.

I always said I wouldn't be one of those builders who counts down the weeks and nags everyone, but I just can't wait. How long does it take after lockup?

I so miss my dishwasher, and look forward to watching the sun set out the window every night. If I close my eyes I can almost be there. I think everyone is sick and tired of hearing me talk about it, good thing I can just type here. We went and picked out a lounge on the weekend, Plush furniture is having their 4 years interest free so figured why not. Also my brother is selling his King size bed and bedhead and as much as I know its a really good buy something is making me think is this what i would choose if i was buying from a store. But then if I was buying from a store I couldn't afford as much so mmmmm still thinking.

I bought my downlights, pendant lights and exterior up/down lights on the weekend the downlights I went for white as bf tells me if I went with silver the ceiling would be accentuated as low which it is just standard height. So white would not make the rooms look as small. I have to compromise in some areas and this was one of them.

Now for the floor tiles, hoping that Metricon will let me change these, as we only had a choice of five colour boards for all tile selections I dont know what my chances are as I've asked them about the tiles on shower base and they said no and asked them about putting a shelf in shower and no. Just made these thoughts too late. I know I can always do these things afterwards so I'm not worried about them but I just think the selctions were way too limited. I mean not everyone wants white to grey tiles.

Any way i will post what they come back with.

LOCKED OUT!!!

Went out to the house Saturday and locked out!!!

How will I check everything now. I think I might need to make my visits less often as I wont see as many changes at this stage.

Now I wonder how long it will take from lockup. My thougths are 12-16 weeks. Not sure how accurate they are but fingers crossed.

When we first signed up we were told maybe June. But the contract gives them until October. So what should I follow?

I did have a bath and shower bases in tho! this was exciting!! Plaster should be this week.

I will post some more photos after next visit on Saturday.

Brickwork

I must say after reading some of the Homeone notes on brickwork I was ready to go over it with a fine tooth comb, but I think it looks great. You can never realyy know how your colour plan with come out but I really love it and couldn't have asked for better.

I have got Timber roller door and from door, and will be ordering timber shutters for the front windows. Hopefully this will not be too much timber accross the front. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Site Cut

I must say this site cut was very suprising. I never thought I would have such a drop on one side of my block.

Now I have absolutley no idea of what to do for my Landscape.

This was back in November when we forst purchased our block of land.

We are building on a 1/4 acre block just out of Ballarat and the views are just fantastic. We will have a sunset view from our outdoor area.

First Post

Well I must say I'm quite excited to get this journey of ours down for all to see.

My name is Tam and my Husband is Glenn, we have two little tykes Sophia and Lachlan. We are building the Santorini 29 with Metricon and are currently about a week away from lockup stage.

We signed our last lot of contracts in December 3 days before Christmas and they started building last week of January. Now I had never really known much about building and times but I thought it would be June before they started. We were very excited when they told us we could be in by June!!!

Anyway, please leave your comments as I love reading the forum's.
